Image Info Hiram Chase and Son was located on upper Main Street in Belfast for many years selling watches, jewelry, silverware and musical instruments.

Chase's father, Timothy, established the the business at this location in 1826 and was a gunsmith and clockmaker.
In 1861, Hiram Chase was appointed by Abraham Lincoln to be Belfast Postmaster, a position he held throughout the war years.
