Image Info

The Universalist Church was built in 1895 on the hillside overlooking the Town of Kingfield, at the corner of High Street and Salem Street.

Photographed while nearing completion, this image reveals that the church still lacks its front steps, its permanent doors, the hands on its steeple clock, and the bell in its tower.

The church's grand, stained glass windows have just been installed. Under close examination it may be seen that the 32 glass panels have their original paper labels still affixed.

This gothic revival building later became the United Methodist Church of Kingfield.
