Image Info "(Taken from southerly side of street, near the McClellan residence)
Show Details
Note board fence of definitely rural style; also two trees in the immediate foreground. These were willows, which grew to enormous size and were cut down after the McClellan property was purchased by the town, to be used for its new High School, erected there in 1929.
Through the trees, across the channel, may be seen a glimpse of the L. W. Weston home, subsequently the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Gertrude S. Weston.
Note that the suspension bridge, afterwards built across the back channel, does not appear. This establishes the fact that the picture was taken previous to 1885."
