Image Info "This shows the high water of December 1, 1916. The south channel bridge was unsafe and those who had occasion to cross came by this structure. Although it was trembling, logs were piled against the iron work and it was feared it would be swept away. It sustained no damage, however. The few persons on this bridge appear to be standing still, but that was probably not the case. Anyone who passed here that morning went on the run. There was no tendency to loiter and look at the scenery.
