"The building at extreme left was a pulp mill, which long since disappeared. Another building for the same purpose was later built and this is now occupied by the Daniel E. Cummings Company. The old wooden toll bridge is easily identified. Just beyond is the fire department building, with tower for drying the hose. Just beyond that is the Methodist Church. A little to the right, about the center of the picture, is the Steward Grist Mill. Just at its right, over the roof of the shed, is the Warren Bacon homestead, and farther to the right, partially hidden by the stable in front, is the John W. Weston place.

The large building at the extreme right was in early days the Stinchfield Carding Mill. The addition which brought the building to its present proportions can be readily distinguished."
