Image Info Farrar/Brown house, Waterford Flat, home of Charles Farrar Brown aka Artemus Ward, America's most famous humorist during the Civil War. It was originally the home of Calvin Farrar, the brother of Caroline Farrar Brown, Charles' mother, then passed to Caroline some time around 1840.
