Image Info An emergency pumping station was built by the Portland Water District at the corner of Walnut and Sheridan Streets in 1931. This pumping station was equipped with two centrifugal booster pumps that were capable of pumping 5,000,000 gallons a day and was designed to act in an emergency to pump water from the Munjoy Hill Reservoir.
