Image Info In 1903, Rumford's Oxford Paper Company, owned by Hugh J. Chisholm, secured what was then considered one of the most valuable contracts in the paper industry--the manufacture of all the postal cards used by the United States Post Office. The Oxford produced these cards at a rate of 3 million per day.
