Maud Webber owned the house traditionally known as the Tarbox homestead. Shown here were the kitchen and original house of the historic homestead known as of 2019 as the Squire Tarbox Inn. Maud Webber was the great-great-granddaughter of "Squire" Samuel Tarbox and the last family member to live in his family homestead.

Samuel Tarbox's original house, the structure pictured on the left, was believed to have been built about 1763. He purchased the original house in 1806, soon after marrying, and later moved it to its present location.Tarbox built the main two-story house about 1825. The first expansion, which served as the kitchen until 1956 was an ell that connected the original house and the front "main" house. The porch was added around 1909 by Maud's father, Capt. Eugene Webber.

Capt. Webber had acquired the family home by buying out his siblings after his parents, Stephen and Caroline Webber, had both died.
