Image Info The postcard reads, 'The historical hotel Wentworth, New Castle, N.H. Residing place of the Russia and Japanese Peace Commission.' Today this resort is called Wentworth By The Sea. In September 1905 the Russian and Japanese envoys met at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard at the invitation of President Theodore Roosevelt to work out a peace agreement after the hostilities of the Russo-Japanese War, 1904-1905.
