Image Info Atlantic Avenue in Wells Beach was at one time known as Main Street. The plan for Atlantic Avenue was laid out by William Eaton, local agent for R.B. Crook and J.B. Brackett of the Wells Beach Improvement Company in the early 1890s. In its early development, there were nine cottages along Atlantic Avenue. The goal of development was to create cottage and hotel sites close to the ocean. Other parts of Main Street included the depot station, restaurants, and stores.
