Image Info A Tichnor Brothers postcard of Spring Point Ledge Light in Portland from around 1938. The lighthouse was built in 1897 off Fort Preble and electrified in 1934. Due to a breakwater constructed in 1951, the light is now (2013) connected to the land at Fort Preble. In 1998, the Spring Point Ledge Light Trust acquired ownership of the lighthouse.
