Image Info Old Town’s Main Street developed from the 19th century onward into the hub of retail and business, with many stores and public buildings along the street. This postcard depicts some of the businesses along the street in the 1930s, including the F.W. Woolworth Co. store. Woolworth’s chain of stores, founded by Frank Winfield Woolworth, were five-and-ten cent variety merchandise shops, with outlets numbering among the thousands worldwide.
