Show Details
South Church was built in 1824 and looked very much as it does today, with the exception of the portico, which was added in 1912. In 1838, seventy members of the First Church "founded" the “South Church” which sits on Temple Street between the Kennebunk River and Maine Street, Kennebunkport. The new congregation in 1838 comprised of 11 men and 59 women along with Rev. Levi Smith.
The Tichnor Brothers printing company published this type of postcard circa 1930-1945.
