Image Info The caption reads, "Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club, Boothbay Harbor, Me." The club began in 1895 renting space in a building owned by Eliphalet Tibbetts. Yachts clubs traditionally provided mooring space for visiting boats, instruction in sailing, sponsorship of regattas and racing, and mooring space of local boat owners.
