Image Info People on the vehicular bridge between Waterville and Winslow view the floodwaters below them in March, 1936. The bridge later collapsed due to the volume and speed of the water beneath it and the impact of the ice blocks once they were carried downriver by the floodwater. The photographer took the photo from the railroad bridge connecting the towns. This bridge survived the flooding.
