Moose in a Maine habitat diorama at the L.C. Bates Museum. The museum's 32 dioramas were created and their backgrounds painted in the early 1920s by the Impressionist artist Charles D. Hubbard. The Good Will boys in the photograph are looking at the moose diorama. The scene in the diorama depicts Pleasant Pond. Although the diorama is still on display today, at some time between the 1940s and present the moose was replaced by one of the last caribou to be shot in Maine.
