Image Info The home of James G. Cousens Smith on the junction of South, Green and Cresent Street in Biddeford during the winter of 1920. Smith was a merchant, later mayor and state legislator, married to Eva Lorena Staples. They had one son, Edward S. C. Smith, who attended Bowdoin, and went on to Harvard to study geology, later becoming a professor at Union College.
