Image Info From even before the First World War, Rev. Hinckley had spoken of the need for a more centrally located school. Dr. George G. Averill, general manager of Keyes Fiber Company, and his wife Frances, donated money for the school in 1930. This school, designed by Bangor architect Crowell Lancaster, became the center of educational life at Good Will. The Averills continued to make donations to the school throughout their lives and during World War II were mainstays of Good Will. Internally rebuilt and joined to a new middle school at its west side, again with leading gifts from Harold and Bibby Alfond, the combined structures were rededicated in September 2000 in honor of the Alfonds and their children.
