Image Info The original Webber Hospital, Biddeford, circa 1910. Moses Webber, who was associated with the Laconia and Pepperell Mills, left a large sum of money to establish a hospital in Biddeford. The early Webber hospital was the renovated Freeman house and was located at 143 Pool Road in Biddeford. The hospital also had a training program for nurses and was the first Allopathic hospital (physcians staffed with the traditional medical degree, the MD), in 1906. In 1911 the staff moved to a new and larger Webber Hospital on Elm Street.
