Show Details
Beginning in 1923 the Portland Water District constructed new, larger pipes from Sebago Lake to Portland to accommodate the greater demand. The plan provided for an 80-foot deep tunnel for the new pipes.
Portland began using Sebago Lake as its water supply in 1869.
