The former Laconia Mills, which became the Laconia Division of the Pepperell Mills, can be seen on the left bank of the river. The Saco-Lowell Shops were situated just up the bank. A corner of the Bates Mill on the Saco side of the river is visible at right, along with the top of a canal opening in the foundation.
