First grammar class of the Spruce Street School, Biddeford, for the 1895-1896 school year. The teacher is Cora Belle Bickford, and the principal at that time was Charles Walker. Thomas Locke (pictured in the middle row) would grow up to be a mayor of Biddeford. Cora Belle Bickford was at this time involved in many clubs in town as well as a reporter for the Journal Tribune.
