Show Details
The Laconia Company was incorporated in 1841 by Parker McCobb, Samuel Batchelder, Rufus Nichols, and James Montgomery; only three years later the company filed this paperwork to double its real and personal estate purchasing power from $500,000 to $1,000,000.
The measure was approved by the legislature and this copy of the original was made the same day, and signed by then Maine Secretary of State Philip C. Johnson.
