Image Info According to Robert J. Peacock, “This photo was taken at the Peacock factory in Lubec, north side alongside the maintenance shed (which was an old smoking shed). The Carpenter Shop was upstairs, and the door that is open leads into the machine shop. In the background on Campobello there is no lobster pound and no road to the bridge, so the photograph is pre 1961. There is no scale box on the top of the carrier so this picture is pre-1952. I lived at the factory until I was five (1954) and the rail system was not used so my best guess is late 1940s. I tore the buildings down in 1984. One of the men in the photo is Rachel West, the mechanic." Querying Peacock about the spelling, he responded. "That's why we called him Rach!"
