Image Info The Hallowell House was constructed between 1832 and 1833 and financed by a group of Hallowell citizens who wanted to provide accommodations for state legislators. Hallowell architect John D. Lord designed the hotel as well as supervising construction of the state capital building in Augusta. Later known to locals as the Worster House, the Hallowell House became the offices of the Maine State Public Utilities Commission in 2009.
