Image Info On November 10, 1937, the Hubbard Free Library in Hallowell was damaged when three freight cars from a southbound train left the tracks and took out the Gothic window on the west side of the granite building. Clearly the sight of the railroad car partially in the library building fascinated a number of Hallowell children.
