Image Info In 1954 the Iron Bridge that crosses Main Street between the Scales Building and the Guilford Woolen Mill, was dynamited and dropped into the Piscataquis River where it was dismantled. A temporary foot bridge was built and can be seen on the left of the photograph. The temporary foot bridge was washed out during a flood that same year. Construction for a new steel bridge began.
