Image Info Jonathan Fisher (1768-1847) was the first settled minister of the town of Blue Hill and The First Congregational Church of Blue Hill from 1796-1837. He was also a a teacher, farmer, surveyor, artist, furniture-maker, writer and poet.

This is a photo of the Fisher homestead with four family members in front. From left are: Jonathan and Dolly Fisher's son Willard Fisher; Willard's daughter Mary Augusta Fisher, Willard's son Frederick Austin Fisher; and Willard's niece Sarah Stevens Hinckley.
The front house was built in 1814 and is still standing. Next is the hog-house with a martin house on top of a pole. To the right of that is his lumber-house and workshop.
Today the house is a museum containing many of Jonathan Fishers self-made artifacts.
