Image Info In 1959, the northwestern corner of the historically important intersection of Centre and Washington Streets was occupied by a Chevron filling station that sold B.F. Goodrich tires. The station was owned by Community Oil Co. and managed by Leo P. Hurturbise. The rear portion of the Sears and Roebuck store on Centre St. can be seen in the background on the right side of the photograph. Behind the filling station, the Central Congregational Church sits on the west side of Washington Street.
