Raymond L.M. Huang, age 6, in front of the Pekin Restaurant on Harlow Street in Bangor.

Huang's father, Wong Jack Jones, owned the restaurant. His mother was Chin Ngan Kee. The elder Wong got his Anglicized name when going through immigration in Seattle. He gave his name as "Wong Jack June" and the immigration officer changed "June" to "Jones."

The elder Wong kept the Anglicized name. Raymond changed his name from "Wong" to "Huang," the more appropriate Cantonese form, when he returned to Bangor after World War II.
