James A. Creighton, took over his father's shipbuilding business, which had been establilshed in 1869 by Charles Creighton. In the last of the 19th century, James ran a successful quarrying and lime burning buiness at the foot of Knox Street. Lyman Morse Boatbuilding Company now owns the property.
