Image Info Lubec High School, decorated for the centennial, was photographed by A.B. Jessaman, Boston professional engaged for the occasion. The portrait image on the right resembles photographs of James G. Blaine. Though dead since 1893, Blaine was an eminent Maine statesman and unsuccessful Republican candidate for president in 1884 as the “plumed knight.” The eyebrows and receding hairline marks the portrait on the left as Frederick W. Plaisted, then Governor of Maine (D) 1911-1913.
