Image Info This blacksmith shop was located in Guinea, a mid-island settlement of Islesboro. The shop was next to F.S. Pendleton and Company, a general store that served the island for over 100 years. Blacksmiths were in demand longer on Islesboro than on the mainland because automobiles were prohibited on the island until 1933.
