Image Info The intersection of Main and Alfred Streets in Biddeford, 1872. At the right can be seen part of the Hill's Block, which was torn down and replaced by a brick building in 1912. In the center is the Meeds House, run by Francis Meeds, whose grocery store was on the first floor. Meeds also sold crockery, glassware, and hardware. Photographer is unknown, but could possibly be B. F. Cole, who was working at that time and known to have produced images of similar theme. None of these buildings still stand.
