Image Info Several groups have gathered in preparation for a parade in this late 1890s photograph. To the left of the image are the members of the Willard Post of the Grand Army of the Republic and a local band has congregated in the foreground, on the right.

The trolley visible to the left was a self-propelled open car, a type first used locally in 1898. The large building on the right was the Butler Block which perished in the fire of 1905 and the building behind the barn to the left was W.R. Usher and Sons' shoe factory.
