Image Info Hebron-born architect Alexander Parris designed this house on State Street in Portland for silversmith Joseph Holt Ingraham. It was built in 1801.

Ingraham laid out and sold lots on State Street, as well as other streets in Portland. He lost money in the Embargo of 1807 and lost the house on State Street. William Pitt Preble was its next owner.
