Image Info From left are Armand Lotti, Lewis Yancey, Rene LeFevre, Jean Assolant and Roger Williams, crews of French and American planes that planned a transatlantic race from Old Orchard Beach to Spain.
Show Details
Lotti, LeFevre and Assolant flew the French plane Yellow Bird on June 13, 1929.
Yancey and Williams crewed the Pathfinder July 7, 1929. They had tried to take off in the Green Flash right behind the French plane, but ground-looped it before they could take off. It was badly damaged, and they had to find another plane.
They took off and followed the route of the Yellow Bird July 7 to Spain.
