Image Info In 1881, Bishop James A. Healy purchased an estate on Stevens Avenue and opened a boarding school for girls, known as St. Joseph's Academy.

The small building on the left was the first of three St. Joseph Churches. The larger building was the St. Joseph's College, now a home for elderly and nuns on Walton Street.
St Joseph's Academy is the building in back of the Covent.
