Goodwin was president of the Board of Trustees of Nasson College for many years.
To the left is the home of Edmund E. Goodwin, one of Springvale's leading merchants. The house to the right was the home of Harmon Allen when this photo was taken in the early years of this century.
Harmon Allen owned a dry goods store in Springvale and was the person most responsible for the founding of Nasson College. He later served as President of the Board of Trustees of the University of Maine.
