Image Info Beneath the ice cutter's left foot one can see the score cut in the ice with a gasoline powered saw rigged with a guide to cut a 22" wide section of ice. An entire pond would be scored into blocks 44' x 22'. An ice saw would then be used to cut blocks of ice to be floated down the channel where the blocks would be hoisted out and stored in an ice house.
