Image Info In 1855, Portland's City Hall was located in the market building that gave the name to Market Square, approximately where the Soldiers and Sailors Monument is in Monument Square. After City Hall was relocated to Congress Street in 1860, the market building became known by several names, including Old City Hall, Old Town Hall, and Old Market House.
