Image Info "The steamer St. Croix was built in 1895 in Bath, Maine, as a passenger vessel for the Eastern Steamship Company of Eastport, Maine. She was 262 feet long overall and weighed 2,000 gross tons. The Portland Company built and installed all of her equipment as well as four three-furnace Scotch press-type 170-pound boilers. She is seen here entering Portland Harbor just below Eastern Promenade." --Fletcher, David H. "The Portland Company 1846-1982." Charleston, S.C.: Arcadia Pub., 2002. p.60.
