This map shows the boundary lines between the United States and British Provinces, extending from the mouth of the St. Croix River to the intersection of the 45th parallel with the St. Lawrence River near St. Regis. It illustrates the claims by the U.S. and Great Britain under the 1783 treaty, the boundary awarded by the King of the Netherlands, and the final settlement by the 1842 Treaty of Washington.

Lieut. T.J. Lee and W.M.C. Fairfax compiled the map under the direction of Major J.D. Graham. It was created for the 1840 Congressional survey and enhanced with numerous astronomical observations in March 1843. Engraved by W.J. Stone, Washington
