The commission appointed under the 5th article of the Treaty of Washington (1842) created this survey, along with several others, to determine the borders across the northern frontier of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York. This map is part of a larger archive, the Thomas Barclay Collection (Coll. 26).
