Image Info This photo was taken during the construction of the present-day Portland City Hall. The first city hall at this site, built in 1862, burned in 1866 and was restored later that same year.

On January 24, 1908 City Hall burned again, with construction beginning on the new building in 1909.
This building was dedicated in an elaborate ceremony on August 22, 1912.
