Image Info Surveyors working under the authority of the Commissioners of the 6th and 7th Articles of the Treaty of Ghent created this manuscript survey of the islands within Lake Huron.

Written on the map is "We certify this to be a true map of part of the boundary designated by the 6th Article of the Treaty Ghent. From actual survey by order of the Board [signed] Anthony Barclay-commissioner, Peter B. Porter-commissioner, David Thompson-surveyor, William A. Bird-surveyor." The survey team made the Lake Huron maps between 1819 and 1827.
This map is part of a larger archive, the Thomas Barclay collection (Coll. 26), related to the drawing of the Northeast boundary between British Canada and the United States.
