Image Info A manuscript map, formerly known as map #77, shows a tract of land called Thopsham in Lincoln County. The depicted parcel contained 25,190 acres, according to the notes of the map's surveyor, Stephen Gatchell. The map shows an area that extended from the Sabbattus River southward along the Androscoggin River, including the Muddy River, the Cathance River, and Merrymeeting Bay. Landowners' names and numbered lots are listed on the map; names include John Merril, Enoch Danforth, John Donlap, Robert Donlap, Joseph Jack, John Mallett, Samuel Willson, Hugh Willson, William Willson, James Douglas, Robert Alexander, Archibald Moffatt, William Alexander, and MacFarlan.
