Image Info In the window of Albert Lovejoy's tin shop hung a poster for the upcoming New Years Ball to be held on January 1, 1894.
Show Details
To the left of Lovejoy's was the entrance to Dr. Williams's second-floor office. To the right of Lovejoy's was the original Perks drug store started by William and Charles Perks. Adjoining the Perks drug store was Talbot's barbershop where each customer had their own personalized shaving mug with their initials. To the right of the barbershop was a candy shop ran by B. O. Hathaway.
A fire in the middle of 1894 destroyed these buildings, which were replaced by brick buildings built in the Romanesque Revival style designed by architect Wilfred Mansur of Bangor.
