A three piece velvet polka dot ensemble sold by Colette Govpy, at 10 Rue Castiglione in Paris. A label inside the dress provides the Govpy name and address. By the 1930s, the Govpy boutique specialized in women's and children's hats and accessories. Its unclear if the dress was made for sale at the Govpy boutique, or made by Govpy herself.

The black and gold three piece ensemble includes long sleeve top with a V neck. The full slip peaks out at the V like a modesty insert. Two rows of five silver buttons each add detail, but are not functional. The buttons are affixed to an extra panel of fabric across the mid-section, and are encrusted with glass crystals. The same style buttons are located at each cuff, but in this instance, function as an enclosure. The matching skirt is flat at the front, with two pleats at the back. A belt completes the outfit. It fastens at the end with two snaps, but includes three non-functional crystal buttons for embellishment.

The dress was part of the Westbrook College collection, before being transferred to Maine Historical Society in 1993.
